Hello Sylvia,

The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is an annual opportunity for Member States to discuss areas of concern for women and girls, and to agree on approaches to address these issues. The priority theme for the upcoming 57th session of the CSW is the elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls.

To inform the CSW discussions, UN Women is hosting a dynamic online discussion from 23 July to 3 August 2012 with activists and experts who work on ending violence against women and girls. If you are working on the issue, you don’t want to miss this conversation!

Your inputs will inform the UN Secretary-General’s reports for the 57th Commission on the Status of Women and guide the discussion of CSW members. They will also be published online in a report on the key themes of the discussion.

Join the conversation and share best practices, gaps and challenges. To find out more about the online discussion and how to join, visit http://www.unwomen.org/2012/07/an-invitation-join-the-discussion-at-csw-57/.

We are looking forward to hearing your voices.

Sincerely,
