I recommend reading it, let us not stop feeding our feminism.

Sylvia.

MORE THAN A MAGAZINE, A MOVEMENT

The Feminist Know-It-All:  will amplify stories of the creation, access, use and preservation of knowledge by women and girls around the world; share innovative projects and initiatives that focus on information, literacies, libraries and more; and, of course, talk about all of the books.

I provide Ms. readers with a list of new books being published by writers from historically excluded groups.

of these lists are threefold:

1.    I want to do my part in the disruption of what has been the acceptable “norm” in the book world for far too long—white, cis, heterosexual, male;

2.    I want to amplify indie publishers and amazing works by writers who are women, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, APIA/AAPI, international, queer, trans, nonbinary, disabled, fat, immigrant, Muslim, neurodivergent, sex-positive or of other historically marginalized identities—you know, the rest of us; and

3.    I want to challenge and encourage you all to buy, borrow and read them!

As we enter into cooler weather here in the U.S. Midwest, it’s not only a time of reflection and shedding of old skins—it’s clearly the beginning of curling-up-with-good-books-and-hot-brews season! (And yes, that’s a thing. I just invented it.)

So as you settle into eclipse season and any special days you may celebrate, keep an eye on your favorite reading chair and insist upon using it regularly, with one of these 31 titles or a favorite of your own.

TO FINALLY CELEBRATE!

Abortion has existed for millennia, today abortion was finally legalized in Colombia, otherwise we would have continued in obscurism. Today there are 63 countries where it is legal.

Abortion is for those who do not even have time to think about it because they are very young; girls who have not even stopped playing with dolls and who do not even manage to rationally dimension what has happened to their bodies; I am talking about raped girls, but also about women who are raped and violated in the dark streets of their neighborhoods or even in their own homes as a result of violence and the delirium of control.

 Abortion is also for those who are not ready to be moms or do not want it; when the circumstances are not the right ones, when it is not the right moment and the right time, ABORTION FOR ALL!

 Sylvia.
