SAY NO...

In less than five days from today, we will #orangetheworld with actions to prevent violence against women and girls, for the #16days of activism campaign. Join us!

From 25 November to 10 December, join the conversation online with @SayNO_UNiTE on Twitter and on Facebook, using the hashtags #orangetheworld and #16days. Download the social media package, available in English, Spanish and French, for messages, photos, videos and so much more!

For the 16 Days period, use our Twibbon to orange your profile picture on Facebook and Twitter: http://j.mp/twibbon16days

And don't forget to join the official #OrangetheWorld Facebook event and share your actions!

There are many more ways to #orangetheworld, here are some ideas:
• Orange historic and important landmarks, buildings, streets and communities. Want to be inspired? Check out the images from last year's campaign here.
• Organize an orange march, an orange bicycle ride, or dance parties, calling for an end to violence against women and girls
• Invite government representatives, celebrities and media personalities to wear orange and speak out against gender-based violence.
• Organize orange events outside the “usual” spaces for activism. Take your activism to new audiences and new spaces, such as nightclubs, sports clubs, places of worship, shopping malls, hospitals, market places and bus stations!
• Inspire conversations about the issue online and at events. Ending violence against women and girls starts with prevention. Click here for stories, news, photos and videos.
If you are in New York, join us on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, for the official UN commemoration event will take place at the UN Headquarters in New York, from 10 AM – 12 PM, EST. RSVP using this link. You can also watch the live webcast at unwomen.org.

We are counting on you to make these #16days count for every woman and girl who has, or is experiencing violence. #Orangetheworld to say NO to violence against women.

Sincerely,

Urjasi Rudra
UN Women
